Whether you live in Miami or are just visiting, one of the most frustrating things that can happen is losing your vehicle keys. So who do you call or contact if you’ve lost your Jeep keys in the beautiful city of Miami?
Your first instinct might be to call a Jeep dealership; however, calling a vehicle dealership should be seen as a last resort for two reasons. The first reason is that a dealership, although they will be able to replace your keys, they’re going to take a long time to do it. You might be waiting days or even weeks for a new key to arrive. If you’re on holiday in Miami, you certainly don’t want to waste time waiting around or sacrificing your mobility. If you live in Miami, you don’t want the inconvenience of having to find alternative transportation just to get through your working day.
The second reason why you don’t want to call a Jeep dealership first is that like most car dealerships, they are going to charge premium prices. So, as you can imagine, waiting a few days for your new keys and getting charged through the nose for it is not an ideal situation.
The first thing you should do if you hopelessly lose your Jeep keys is call a Miami locksmith, preferably an automotive Miami locksmith. A quick internet search on your smartphone, tablet or laptop will come up with a few results; call the locksmith that is closest to your location. If it’s late at night and you need to get into your car, call a locksmith that provides 24 hour emergency service. Ask the locksmith if he or she can replace your keys; you’ll need to tell him or her your car’s year, model, and make along with the Vehicle Identification Number. You’ll also need to show him or her your vehicle registration to prove it’s not a stolen car.
Many locksmiths will be able to replace your Jeep keys or the keys to any modern vehicles; most will also be able to reprogram keys if they need to be reprogrammed. Chances are that a locksmith will have you on your way within minutes at best or a couple of hours at the absolute most; furthermore, they’ll also probably charge less than a dealership! If the locksmith cannot replace your keys, then feel free to contact a Jeep dealership, but never buy replacement keys from anonymous sellers on the internet!
